Volunteer Weekends at Dunans

Volunteering at Dunans is about bringing the whole project forward, not just the castle. This year we will be working in the grounds rather than the castle.

Groundwork and drystone walls around the bothy will be our first project, the idea being to create a large open space in the old garden, and restore some of the walls which surround it. The programme will be dependent on the expertise we can bring in, but expect to learn about drystone walling, rhododendron clearance and maintenance, as well as midges and tree-felling!

We will provide lunch and evening barbecue around a campfire, and help you find accommodation bookings locally.

Each weekend runs from Friday to Sunday, and you can join us for all three days or just three hours – it’s up to you!

Our previous volunteer weekend focussed on the bridge and the rope access skills of a team of volunteers who approached us!
